J called to say hello while I was deep into a late afternoon nap yesterday. I’m embarrassed to admit that I drifted in and out of sleep during the first few minutes of our conversation. At one point, when I hadn’t responded to one of his questions after a reasonable amount of time, he asked if I hadn’t heard him because the connection was bad. I lied and told him it was. Better than saying, “Sorry, honey, I fell asleep while you were talking to me,” right?
Oh, why did he have to call me during my nap? My brain wasn’t fully functioning. Ugg.
