Somewhere in Middle America

another snow day in omaha pt. 2

If those were the before photos, these are the during/after photos of the snowstorm in Omaha today.

Briscoe sure does love snow.

And that’s a good thing because we might get 6 inches of the white stuff.

Another snow day in Omaha.

This morning I received an automated call from the Omaha Public School district letting me know that school was canceled today.

A) I don’t have any children.

B) When the call came in at 6am, it hadn’t even started snowing!

The flurries began to fall less than an hour ago, and I fear that by 1pm, when I’m supposed to head down to Trocadero in the Old Market, driving conditions will be BAD. Right now, however, it’s awfully pretty outside.

the return of J

If plans don’t change, J is scheduled to return home from his deployment in just under a week. I’ve been thinking about what I can do to celebrate his homecoming. Last time we were living in an apartment, so I taped a handmade “Welcome Home!” poster to the outside of our front door and had a big balloon waiting for him inside. What should I now that we’re in a house?

blogging hiatus

Beginning on February 15, Somewhere in Middle America will be offline for a couple of weeks getting a facelift. When we return on March 1, we’ll have a new URL (SomewhereinMiddleAmerica.com) and a new look. The blog’s focus will be changing just a teensy bit so the categories will be different, but other than that, it’ll be the same blog you’ve grown to love.

That said, now’s the time to buy some advertising! Send me an email for more information.
