On Saturday I schlepped my camera around the city to document my day. I took over 100 photos.

Read my day in the life post on EADL (don’t worry – I only included about 9 photos), and be sure to check out the rest in the series. It’s so interesting to read about the similarities and differences in our lives.

Every Monday, Moontree Letterpress has a six-word story contest on their blog. This week’s topic was “Words of Advice,” and the prize was 50 custom business or calling cards.
I love letterpress anything, so I decided to enter. There were 25 entries… and mine was chosen as the winning submission! Can you believe it?
My piece of advice was always save room for ice cream.
What are the best words of advice you’ve ever received?

Could this past week have been any hotter? It was literally 105 degrees in Omaha on Wednesday, and breathing outside was actually difficult. I’m jealous of the couple in the photo above, who look like they’re about to jump into that dazzling aquamarine water.
Some faves from around the web:
Ugly scarf, beautiful model. Does she look familiar? Hint: ‘Mad Men’ season 4 premieres July 25 on AMC. (via Jezebel)
I’ve always loved the idea of hanging decorative plates. This wallpaper would be a lot easier.
Now I know what to get my pregnant friends.
The toothpaste that prevents the “you squeeze the wrong end of the tube!” quarrels.
I love the wall of dreams.
Learn how to cuss like a Brit — “Stupid Old Wanker!” – with this Periodic Table of Swearing. (via Miss Jane)
Simple and refined summer style.
I’ll be you’ve never made an omelet like this. Or have you? Let me know!
An Almond Joy milkshake sounds delish, but I’d love to try a Baby Ruth one. Give it a try, Spike!
I’m going to attempt to hit up the Farmer’s Market tomorrow if it’s not too hot and/or thunderstorm-y. I’d also like to catch either ‘Solitary Man’ at the Dundee Theater or ‘Cyrus’ at Filmstreams. What are your weekend plans?

I love my living room — it’s the room in which I spend most of my time — but it’s suffering from Naked Wall Syndrome. J and I have been in this house for over a year and a half, and I hardly have anything up on the walls. I’m determined to change that this summer while he is deployed. However, I could use some help determining what to put where. Click over to my post on Elizabeth Anne Designs Living to weigh in on what I should hang in my living room. Please don’t be shy — I need your help!

What are your big plans for the holiday weekend? My mom and grandma are coming to keep me company for a couple of days, and I’ve been brainstorming outdoor activities and short day trips for us. A no-brainer would be for us to watch the fireworks on Sunday, but I the city of Omaha puts on their show tonight. Now that doesn’t make very much sense!
Anyway, have a safe and happy 4th of July!
I wish I had a big family so that we could have a reunion and make awesome screenprinted t-shirts (among other reasons).
Donate a dollar (or more!) to Camp PALS, a week-long overnight summer camp for young adults with Down Syndrome (via My Coney).
Can I please have a 30th Balloon Party when I turn 31? I would like to celebrate having survived 30–so far it’s not as terrible as I had imagined.
This printable list will come in handy as I plan my next project: redecorating my bedroom.
Let the best stop-motion commercial battle begin! Goody Simple Styles vs. Amazon Kindle.
If I had something meaningful to say or a life-altering mantra to remember, this would be how I’d express myself.
