i’m a flintstone (big) kid

As a child, my mother made sure I took my vitamins daily. It wasn’t such a big deal back then; they were chewable and tasty.
Although I don’t live with my parents anymore, my mom still nags me to take a multi-vitamin, but Women’s One-A-Day pills are just so dang big and hard to swallow. So, at the recommendation of a pregnant friend (at the recommendation of her physician), I bought a bottle of Flintstones Complete vitamins, and I haven’t skipped a day since I started taking them three days ago. Why? Maybe because they are tasty and easy to chew — just like the tablets I took as a kid. They bring me back to my childhood. Who knew one multi-vitamin could do so much?
Do you take vitamins? I ask because my family have always been vitamin people, but my husband’s family weren’t. He didn’t take vitamins growing up, and we’ve already had premature arguments over whether our future children will take them.
I say, “Of course!”
He says, “They should get all of their nutrients from food.”
What do you say?

Well – as far as whether or not kids shoudl take vitaments, I agree with both of you. that is the great thing about Flinstones and other “kid” vitamins (especially for adults). They don’t contain 100% of the daily recommended dosages of nutrients. It is a supplement. No need to argue!
I took flinstones as a child but not consistantly. As an adult, I’ve taken a mulit-vitamin but not consistantly. The problem I have taken them now is that they are sooo big!! I fear it will get stuck in my throat!!LOL I know it’s crazy but I do. However, I feel I need them! So I now take Prenatal One Multivitamin. I’m not trying to have a baby anytime soon but my OB/GYN says that I should start taking a prenatal vitamin a few months before I actually start trying. So I’m killing two birds with one stone. I need a multivitamin and this one has what my body needs to everyday and in preparation for a pregnancy someday.
