pets can fly the friendly skies

Unfortunately, Pet Airways doesn’t fly through the Omaha airport, but if it did, I would definitely consider using it for Briscoe. He’s just a tad too tall now to fit comfortably under the seat in front of us, and I can’t fathom crating him up and sticking him in the luggage compartment. I know that people do travel with their pets that way all the time, but I would spend the entire flight worrying about my baby boy.

How do you travel with your pet?

We’re so lucky here in Canada because we have a really great, friendly airline that is also pet-friendly! They are amazing and our girl is small enough to fit under the seat, so that’s how we take her. I wouldn’t be able to crate her up under the plane, either.

I like the idea of Pet Airways but I would like to fly on the same plane as my girl.

that’s really interesting! i wonder if it’ll catch on and become profitable enough that this would become a standard. i’ve always wondered why they allow toddlers but not puppies on flights- they’re usually quieter ;)

though, like you, i would rather be in the same flight as my dogs and not have to cram them under a seat. i guess for now, we continue to just stick with the car.

We are going to take our first road trip with our girls this Christmas because I don’t want to spend the holiday without them. The girls are big both over 50lbs so they would have to go in the luggage compartment. I too would not be able to deal with that, so we normally board them when we travel.
