remembering the inauguration
Four months ago to the day I was in Washington, D.C. to visit my friend A and witness history in the making. It was a frigid day, but that didn’t stop us and more than one million people from crowding the National Mall to watch President Obama’s inauguration on jumbotrons. Despite slowly losing feeling in my toes, I was grateful and excited to be standing among such enthusiastic supporters of our new president. All around me were proud Americans cheering, “That’s my president!” Needless to say, it was a morning I’ll never forget. Here are some of the photos I took that day.
Where were you when President Obama was taking the oath of office?

I was there, too! Wasn’t it just the most amazing day? I still smile big every time I think about it…
I was sitting in my office. I work on a military installation (and am also a military spouse), and nobody that I work with was a supporter (that’s their right), but alas, had nothing but mean and hateful things to say about the day.
I kept my door shut and streamed the event from the webs, with a grin on my face the entire time, chatting online with my fellow Obama supporting military spouses.
It was a good day
great photos!
I am ever hopeful that all that we expected on that fateful day will actually become a new reality. Such a tremendous rush of success will hopefully be followed by an even bigger continuity of success. So far the outlook is timid at best, but there is time to grow!
