sisters in need
My kid sister flew into town very late last night. I guess it’s not fair to call her a kid since she is in her mid-twenties, but that’s what she’ll always be to me (and I mean that in the most endearing way). We’re three years apart, and I know that I’ll always play the role of overprotective big sis.
I’m so excited for her to come out here for a number of reasons.
1. I can use the company. Since J left 1.5 months ago, the apartment has felt so empty. It will be nice to have another soul in it to help warm it up.
2. Living and working in NYC, she’s constantly under tons of stress. I know that this brief getaway is her chance to relax, and I plan to make it as relaxing as possible for her–hanging by the pool, seeing some movies, doing some shopping, eating yummy meals.
3. While she has her own stress to deal with, she’s always been a good sounding board for me–and goodness knows I’m under my fair share of stress. I’m looking forward to talking through with her all the things that’ve been running through my mind lately.
Who helps you get through those stressful times?
(photo of us in mid-80s–I believe that’s a Rainbow Brite sweatsuit my sister is wearing)

Awww I love you P!!
