Somewhere in Middle America

sole searching

Dear Friends,

I’m looking for a comfortable yet stylish pair of shoes to wear on my honeymoon next month. My plan is to wear some sort of sundress or skirt/top every day (aka NOT look like an American tourist in Italy), so I need something equally cute for my feet (which are terribly long and narrow). Any ideas?

Love PJ

Well, PJ i found you on Apartment Therapy (think…) and fear we may be the same person.

I’m an east coast girl (Masshole, woot woot), living in Des Moines. Just got married last May, going on a delayed honeymoon to Italy in November and have been posing the same footwear question myself.

I just got these for our trip after much noodling on the interwebs: http://amandarider.blogspot.com/2008/07/italy-shoes.html

    v. cute and v. comfortable. I looked at lot of Keens but they made my feet look like boxes of pencils (narrow feet). I’ve heard good things about Clarks Privos, but they were too sporty for me.

    Good luck!

I am also a narrow footed gal…I like Kork Ease sandals…Zappos has them and so does Sundance. so, so comfortable.

Amanda, I’m glad you found me–and thanks for the shoe advice! So, you’re a Masshole, huh? I went to college in Boston ;) The similarities continue!

Where in Italy are you going for your honeymoon?

Mrs. French, thanks for the suggestion! I’m not usually into platform shoes (J is only 2+ inches taller than I am), but I see they have some that are only 1.5 inches on Zappos. They definitely have potential! I wonder if the Medium width would be narrow enough for me…
