corresponding via snail mail | SIMA

Because I’m a sucker for a great card, I enjoyed Holly Becker’s article on Simply Stated today, How to Be a Card Sender. In the last year or so I’ve been trying to remember to mail cards to my family and friends for special occasions like birthdays and holidays, and when J’s away, I send him a card every week or so. My goal is to start sending cards to people for no other reason than to say hello.

Sometimes I regret that I can’t do all of my correspondence via snail  mail or even email. As I’ve mentioned before, I hate talking on the phone. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s a phobia or something. Maybe a phone fell on me when I was a child. I try to get away with email as much as possible, but I know that often the situation require more than a message from my Gmail account, and I feel guilty when I can’t act accordingly.

If only everyone I knew would jump back on the card-sending bandwagon to send a message. How uncomplicated life would be!
